Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and within LPN scope of practice.
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs, observing and reporting any changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
  • Perform skilled nursing procedures such as wound care, catheterization, and specimen collection, maintaining strict aseptic technique.
  • Collaborate effectively with Registered Nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and post-discharge care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and detailed patient records and documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, assisting in crisis situations as part of the healthcare team.

Required Skills

  • Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in your home country with eligibility for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses' Association (SRNA).
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent, relevant clinical experience as an LPN.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in essential clinical skills including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs assessment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Proof of immunization and a satisfactory criminal record check upon hire.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in diverse healthcare settings (e.g., acute care, long-term care, community health).
  • Familiarity with Canadian healthcare standards, regulations, and practices.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Additional certifications relevant to specialized areas of nursing practice.
