Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and within LPN scope of practice.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, observing and reporting any changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
- Perform skilled nursing procedures such as wound care, catheterization, and specimen collection, maintaining strict aseptic technique.
- Collaborate effectively with Registered Nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and detailed patient records and documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, assisting in crisis situations as part of the healthcare team.
Required Skills
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in your home country with eligibility for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses' Association (SRNA).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent, relevant clinical experience as an LPN.
- Demonstrated proficiency in essential clinical skills including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs assessment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Proof of immunization and a satisfactory criminal record check upon hire.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in diverse healthcare settings (e.g., acute care, long-term care, community health).
- Familiarity with Canadian healthcare standards, regulations, and practices.
