Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly dedicated and vigilant Overnight Security Officer to join our team for a crucial commercial night shift in Edinbrook, Brooklyn Park. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the premises, ensuring all entry points are secure and identifying any suspicious activity.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems diligently, responding promptly to any alerts or unusual observations.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures consistently to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate incident reports, documenting all security-related events, observations, and actions taken.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to employees or authorized visitors during the night shift.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required, providing necessary information and support.
- Control access to the facility, verifying credentials and logging visitor information according to established protocols.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions discovered during patrols.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in security or a related field
- Valid Minnesota Security Guard License (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for report writing and monitoring systems
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs
- Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial or corporate security environments
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Familiarity with various security technologies (CCTV, access control systems)
- Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
