Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and accurately record observations.
  • Help patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
  • Assist nurses with medical procedures, as delegated and within scope of practice.
  • Document care provided, patient observations, and changes in condition promptly and accurately.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a comforting atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient status.
  • Respond to patient calls and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Adhere strictly to all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality policies.

Required Skills

  • Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proven ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong observational and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Physical stamina to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliability and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or rehabilitation setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Experience with specialized patient care equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
