Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and accurately record observations.
- Help patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Assist nurses with medical procedures, as delegated and within scope of practice.
- Document care provided, patient observations, and changes in condition promptly and accurately.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a comforting atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient status.
- Respond to patient calls and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Adhere strictly to all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality policies.
Required Skills
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proven ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong observational and documentation skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Physical stamina to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or rehabilitation setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience with specialized patient care equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
