Job Description

Are you a skilled Forklift Operator looking for an immediate start in a fast-paced and supportive environment? Career.zycto is seeking dedicated and safety-conscious individuals to join our growing team in Bolton, Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on efficiency, precision, and contributing to the smooth operation of a busy warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be a crucial part of our logistics team, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods within our facility. Your daily tasks will involve operating various types of Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE), including Counterbalance and/or Reach trucks, to load, unload, stack, and move products. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring products are stored correctly, and preparing orders for dispatch. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate counterbalance and/or reach forklift trucks safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
  • Load and unload vehicles, ensuring all goods are handled with care and accuracy.
  • Transport goods to designated areas within the warehouse, adhering to layout and storage plans.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of MHE and report any defects or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation, ensuring accuracy and proper stock levels.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, contributing to a safe and productive environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  • Support general warehouse duties as required, including picking, packing, and dispatch tasks.

Required Skills

  • Valid, in-date Forklift Operator license (RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT or NPORS certified for Counterbalance and/or Reach).
  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience operating forklifts in a busy warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Demonstrable understanding and commitment to health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently, often under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good physical condition to perform manual handling tasks when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Additional MHE licenses (e.g., VNA, PPT).
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
