Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established sales route, meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Perform direct delivery of products to customers on a scheduled basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with existing customers, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory to expand customer base and market share.
- Conduct product presentations, introduce new items, and upsell complementary products to maximize revenue.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and provide exceptional service.
- Maintain accurate inventory control on the company vehicle and ensure proper handling of products.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, sales reports, and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and traffic laws.
- Continuously learn about product offerings and industry trends to effectively consult with customers.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in sales or customer service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a designated territory effectively.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift and carry products, and perform frequent bending, lifting, and loading.
- Basic mathematical skills for invoicing and inventory management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a Route Sales Representative or in direct store delivery (DSD).
- Familiarity with CRM software and handheld delivery devices.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the West Hartford area.
- Experience in the consumer goods or distribution industry.
