Key Responsibilities
- Accurately measure, cut, and install drywall sheets on walls and ceilings according to blueprints and specifications.
- Install various types of acoustic ceiling tiles and suspension grids, ensuring proper alignment and structural integrity.
- Apply joint compound, tape, and sand surfaces to achieve smooth, seamless finishes ready for painting or other treatments.
- Inspect finished surfaces for imperfections and ensure adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including drills, saws, lifts, and scaffolding.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure seamless project progression.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and storage on job sites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to drywall and acoustic ceiling installation.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of proven experience as a Drywall Hanger or Finisher.
- Demonstrated expertise in acoustic ceiling installation, including grid systems and tile placement.
- Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and fitting drywall sheets accurately.
- Skilled in joint compound application, taping, and sanding for smooth finishes.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina for demanding work.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites within the South Farms, Middletown area.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
