Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
 - Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with IFRS.
 - Ensure strict compliance with all relevant tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, withholding tax) and other statutory requirements in Kenya.
 - Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring actual performance against planned targets.
 - Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
 - Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
 - Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
 - Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and streamline financial processes.
 - Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities.
 - Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in accounting standards and regulations.
 
Required Skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) qualification
 - Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
 - Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP
 - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
 - Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
 - Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
 - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
 - Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution
 - Experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry
 - Familiarity with financial planning and analysis tools
 - Additional certifications in finance or project management
