Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Meridian, MS. This critical role involves the design, development, implementation, and optimization of control systems for a wide range of industrial applications. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain complex control systems, including PLC/DCS programming, HMI/SCADA development, and industrial network configuration.
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations, specify instrumentation, and select appropriate control hardware and software components.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and commissioning of control systems to ensure optimal performance and adherence to design specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers, to integrate control solutions seamlessly.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, control narratives, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing control systems, identifying root causes of issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices in control systems engineering to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all designs and implementations comply with relevant safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in control systems design, programming, and implementation in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider Electric) and HMI/SCADA development (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View).
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profinet, OPC UA).
  • Experience with PID control loops, motor control, and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control system architecture diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with process simulation software and advanced process control techniques.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
  • Knowledge of various coding languages such as Python or C++ for data analysis or custom application development.
  • Experience in specific industries such as manufacturing, oil & gas, chemicals, or utilities.
