We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Meridian, MS. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain complex control systems, including PLC/DCS programming, HMI/SCADA development, and industrial network configuration.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations, specify instrumentation, and select appropriate control hardware and software components.
- Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and commissioning of control systems to ensure optimal performance and adherence to design specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers, to integrate control solutions seamlessly.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, control narratives, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing control systems, identifying root causes of issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices in control systems engineering to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all designs and implementations comply with relevant safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in control systems design, programming, and implementation in an industrial setting.
- Proficiency with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider Electric) and HMI/SCADA development (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View).
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profinet, OPC UA).
- Experience with PID control loops, motor control, and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control system architecture diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
- Experience with process simulation software and advanced process control techniques.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of various coding languages such as Python or C++ for data analysis or custom application development.
- Experience in specific industries such as manufacturing, oil & gas, chemicals, or utilities.
