Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed pharmacists with dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Manage and maintain pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with orders.
- Process patient prescriptions, ensuring correct data entry and billing information.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service, escalating complex issues to the pharmacist.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist with compounding medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, if applicable.
- Operate pharmacy software and point-of-sale systems.
- Provide basic information to patients regarding medication use, side effects, and storage as directed by the pharmacist.
- Prepare medication labels and packaging.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, record-keeping, and answering phone calls.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 18 months experience as a Pharmacist Assistant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and basic medication classes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and pharmacy software.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
