Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed pharmacists with dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage and maintain pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with orders.
  • Process patient prescriptions, ensuring correct data entry and billing information.
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service, escalating complex issues to the pharmacist.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with compounding medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, if applicable.
  • Operate pharmacy software and point-of-sale systems.
  • Provide basic information to patients regarding medication use, side effects, and storage as directed by the pharmacist.
  • Prepare medication labels and packaging.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, record-keeping, and answering phone calls.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 18 months experience as a Pharmacist Assistant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and basic medication classes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and pharmacy software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Pharmacy Technology/Assistant.
  • Experience with specific pharmacy management systems used in Nigeria.
  • Familiarity with local pharmaceutical regulations and guidelines.
  • Fluency in Yoruba or other local languages, in addition to English.
