Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set work.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, applying the school's policies and procedures to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Liaise with teaching staff regarding work set, student progress, and any notable incidents during the lesson.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students under supervision.
  • Build positive relationships with students, fostering a respectful and engaging atmosphere.
  • Administer and collect completed work, ensuring it is ready for the returning teacher.
  • Provide basic administrative support as required, such as taking attendance.
  • Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety regulations.
