Key Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, always maintaining dignity and respect.
- Supporting mobility, transfers, and safe positioning, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Administering medication strictly according to care plans and relevant training, accurately documenting all actions.
- Assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Performing light household duties, such as tidying, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Providing companionship, emotional support, and engaging in stimulating activities or conversations.
- Accurately observing, reporting, and documenting any changes in clients' physical, mental, or emotional condition to the appropriate supervisor.
- Supporting clients with appointments, errands, and community engagement as required.
- Adhering to all health and safety guidelines, care plans, and company policies and procedures.
- Working collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and other team members to ensure holistic care.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a care-giving role (e.g., Care Assistant, Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant).
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrable empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for caring for others.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and commitment to client safety.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle is essential for community-based roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Experience with specific client needs, such as dementia care, palliative care, or learning disabilities.
- First Aid certification.
- Moving & Handling certification.
