Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Assist patients with over-the-counter medication selection and provide clear, concise advice.
  • Process prescriptions, maintain patient records, and handle insurance inquiries with confidentiality.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and label medications, ensuring correct dosages and clear instructions.
  • Support pharmacists in various administrative tasks and patient care initiatives.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and pharmacy regulations and best practices.

Required Skills

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification.
  • GPhC registration or eligibility for registration.
  • Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably within a community pharmacy setting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • A strong commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic prescribing systems.
  • Knowledge of local health initiatives and patient support programmes.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Additional certifications in specific therapeutic areas (e.g., diabetes care, smoking cessation).
