Career.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Environmental Consultant to join our network on a flexible, contract basis, primarily serving clients across South Dakota. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive environmental site assessments (Phase I, Phase II ESAs) and due diligence investigations.
- Perform regulatory compliance audits and develop environmental management plans (EMPs).
- Prepare and review environmental permits, licenses, and reports in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., EPA, DENR).
- Provide expert technical guidance to clients on environmental regulations, risks, and best management practices.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Conduct fieldwork, including site inspections, sampling, and data collection, as required.
- Develop and present technical reports, proposals, and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners on complex environmental projects.
- Stay abreast of evolving environmental laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related environmental field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, CWA) and South Dakota environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in conducting Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various client sites within South Dakota.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant environmental discipline.
- Professional certification (e.g., P.G., P.E., CHMM).
- Experience with environmental modeling software or GIS applications.
- Prior experience working with South Dakota state agencies (e.g., DENR).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
