Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in residential and commercial properties.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex plumbing problems, including leaks, clogs, pipe damage, and appliance malfunctions.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent future issues.
- Interpret blueprints and building specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and plan installations.
- Cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes, tubing, and fittings using various tools and techniques.
- Install and repair water heaters, pumps, garbage disposals, dishwashers, and other plumbing appliances.
- Ensure all work adheres to local plumbing codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide clear explanations of plumbing issues and solutions to clients, offering professional advice and estimates.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and provide efficient, effective solutions.
- Keep work area clean and organized, ensuring minimal disruption to clients.
Required Skills
- Certified Plumber (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional plumbing experience in both residential and commercial settings
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams
- Strong knowledge of local plumbing codes and safety regulations
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in the use of plumbing tools and equipment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid Jamaican driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
