Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance, with dignity and respect.
  • Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and exercises as directed by care plans or medical professionals.
  • Support with light housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and other essential errands.
  • Administer medications as per established protocols and assist with medication reminders.
  • Monitor and record client's vital signs, physical and mental well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing supervisor.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for clients.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and care plans.
  • Document care provided accurately and timely, ensuring clear communication within the care team.

Required Skills

  • Valid Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate or equivalent care aide qualification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a home care or community setting.
  • Experience working with clients with diverse needs (e.g., dementia, mobility challenges).
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the diverse community of Tsawwassen, Delta.
