Job Description

Career.zycto is on the lookout for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Entry Level Video Color Grading Assistant to join our vibrant post-production team in Cambridge. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a nascent passion for color science, visual aesthetics, and the transformative power of a perfectly graded image. You’ll be working closely with our experienced Senior Colorists, assisting across a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from brand commercials and corporate videos to engaging short-form content and documentary pieces. Your role will be foundational, providing crucial support in the initial stages of the color grading process, ensuring projects are meticulously prepared for the creative magic that follows. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Colorists in preparing project files for color grading, including conforming, syncing, and organizing media.
  • Perform initial color correction tasks such as white balancing, exposure adjustments, and basic shot matching under guidance.
  • Manage and maintain media assets, ensuring proper file naming conventions and folder structures.
  • Implement and verify color LUTs (Look-Up Tables) and display calibration settings for consistent monitoring.
  • Export and render various video formats for client review and final delivery, adhering to strict technical specifications.
  • Conduct quality control checks on graded footage to identify and report any visual anomalies or technical issues.
  • Support the post-production team with general administrative tasks, scheduling, and communication.
  • Stay updated with the latest color grading techniques, software advancements, and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of video production and post-production workflows.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Strong passion for visual storytelling and the art of color grading.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Proactive and eager to learn new software and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Film Production, Media Arts, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • Some exposure to color grading software such as DaVinci Resolve, Baselight, or similar.
  • Basic knowledge of color theory and color science principles.
  • Experience with media asset management systems.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for visuals, even if personal projects.
