Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews of financial transactions, client files, and operational procedures to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and report potential compliance breaches, risks, and vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory landscapes (e.g., OSFI, FINTRAC, provincial securities commissions) and interpret their impact on business operations.
  • Collaborate with legal, audit, risk management, and business units to provide compliance guidance and facilitate corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed compliance reports and present findings to management.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to compliance.
  • Contribute to fostering a strong culture of compliance and ethical conduct across the organization.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a financial compliance, audit, or regulatory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian financial regulations (e.g., OSFI, FINTRAC, anti-money laundering (AML), privacy regulations).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CRCM, CSC).
