Job Description
We are seeking a proactive, skilled, and customer-focused IT Support Technician to join our dynamic team in Gokwe, Midlands Province. As an IT Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for all IT-related issues, providing essential technical assistance and support to our branch staff. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues, both remotely and on-site.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operating system (Windows, Linux) and application software problems (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, core banking applications).
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and security settings within Active Directory and other relevant systems.
- Perform routine network diagnostics, ensuring connectivity and security protocols are adhered to.
- Assist with IT asset management, including inventory tracking, procurement, and decommissioning of equipment.
- Document all support activities, resolutions, and system configurations accurately in the IT service management system.
- Conduct user training on new software, hardware, or IT policies to enhance system utilization and security awareness.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff and third-party vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with NMB Bank's IT security policies and data protection regulations.
- Participate in on-call rotation or scheduled after-hours support as required by the flexible work arrangement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT support or a similar technical role (minimum 2 years).
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting and repair (desktops, laptops, printers, networking equipment).
- Basic understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with Active Directory user and computer management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a calm and patient approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Experience with core banking applications or financial services industry IT.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools.
- Basic knowledge of virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
