Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive practice plans and game strategies tailored to athlete development.
- Lead daily practice sessions, focusing on fundamental skill development, physical conditioning, and team cohesion.
- Recruit, evaluate, and mentor student-athletes, fostering their athletic, academic, and personal growth.
- Ensure strict compliance with all league, state, and organizational rules and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with academic staff to monitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility.
- Manage team equipment, budget allocations, and travel logistics efficiently.
- Communicate regularly and transparently with players, parents, administration, and support staff.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, respect, and hard work.
- Actively participate in community engagement activities and fundraising initiatives.
- Provide immediate first aid and emergency care as needed, ensuring paramount player safety.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in football strategy, techniques, and effective game management.
- Strong leadership, motivational, and team-building abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student-athletes, parents, and staff.
- In-depth knowledge of sports psychology and athlete development principles.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain promptly).
- Superior organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in video analysis software for player development and scouting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field.
- NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) coaching certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience coaching football at the high school or collegiate level.
- A successful track record in building and maintaining competitive football programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of strength and conditioning principles for football athletes.
- Familiarity with the local Laurel, Montana football community and talent pool.
