Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Hip Hop Dance Teacher to join our team in Glendive, Montana. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative, age-appropriate, and progressive hip hop dance lesson plans and choreography.
- Teach fundamental to advanced hip hop techniques, including grooves, footwork, breaking, popping, locking, and freestyling.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and energetic classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and self-expression.
- Provide clear demonstrations and constructive feedback to students to aid in their technical development and artistic growth.
- Manage class schedules effectively and ensure punctuality and preparedness for all sessions.
- Maintain a safe teaching environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Communicate regularly with students and, where applicable, parents regarding progress and class information.
- Stay current with hip hop dance trends, music, and pedagogical techniques.
- Participate in occasional performances or showcases as an instructor, demonstrating class routines.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience teaching Hip Hop dance to diverse age groups (ages 6+).
- Expert-level proficiency in various Hip Hop dance styles and techniques.
- Strong understanding of dance anatomy, injury prevention, and safe teaching practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Proven ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans and original choreography.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain discipline in a positive manner.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organized with a strong work ethic.
- A passion for fostering creativity and self-expression through dance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal dance training or a degree in Dance, Performing Arts, or a related field.
