Career.zycto is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Research and Development to lead our innovation efforts in Gokwe, Midlands Province. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall R&D strategy in alignment with company objectives and market opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of R&D professionals, fostering a high-performance and innovative work environment.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and conceptualization through research, prototyping, testing, and commercialization.
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies and scientific advancements into our R&D roadmap.
- Manage R&D budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, marketing, operations, and sales teams to ensure successful product launches and market penetration.
- Establish and maintain intellectual property strategies, including patent filings and trade secret protection.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and quality assurance protocols in R&D activities.
- Present R&D progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biotechnology, Material Science, Electrical Engineering).
- Minimum of 13 years of progressive experience in R&D, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute R&D strategies that drive product innovation and business growth.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and experience managing complex R&D projects.
- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Deep knowledge of industry-specific technologies, market trends, and regulatory landscapes.
- Proficiency in data analysis, experimental design, and scientific reporting.
