Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Chiredzi, Masvingo Province. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto’s strategic goals and business needs.
- Design, implement, and manage a wide range of learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, onboarding, and compliance.
- Conduct regular training needs assessments across all departments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities.
- Select and manage external training vendors and resources as needed, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Establish metrics and evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness and impact of L&D programs, reporting on ROI to senior leadership.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and talent development trends.
- Coach, mentor, and develop a small team of L&D professionals (if applicable).
- Collaborate with HR and departmental leaders to integrate L&D initiatives with broader talent management strategies.
- Manage the L&D budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in a senior Learning & Development role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate impactful L&D programs.
- Deep understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design principles, and blended learning approaches.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in leveraging learning technologies and platforms (e.g., LMS, e-learning authoring tools).
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision making and reporting on L&D effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., HR, Organizational Psychology, Education).
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPTD, ATD credentials).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growing organization or a similar industry in Zimbabwe/Africa.
- Familiarity with digital learning trends and innovative delivery methods (e.g., gamification, virtual reality training).
- Experience with change management initiatives related to talent development.
