Job Description
Trust Academy is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Online Tutoring Assistant to join our growing remote team. This full-time position is ideal for individuals passionate about education and eager to leverage technology to support student success from the comfort of their home in Chiredzi, Masvingo Province. As an Online Tutoring Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating an engaging and effective virtual learning environment. You will work closely with our online educators and students, providing crucial academic support, clarifying complex concepts, and fostering a collaborative online community. Your responsibilities will include assisting students with coursework, moderating online discussions, providing constructive feedback on assignments, and helping to manage various e-learning platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group online tutoring sessions to students across various subjects.
- Assist students with understanding course material, homework assignments, and exam preparation.
- Facilitate and moderate online discussion forums, promoting active student engagement.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on student assignments, essays, and projects.
- Help students develop effective study habits, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with lead educators to identify areas where students require additional support.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation.
- Stay updated with the latest e-learning tools and pedagogical best practices.
- Respond promptly to student inquiries and provide clear, concise explanations.
- Assist in the preparation of supplementary learning materials and resources.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in using online collaboration and e-learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Zoom, Google Classroom).
- Strong subject matter knowledge in at least one academic discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Science, English, Business Studies).
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable internet connection and a conducive home office environment.
- Empathy and patience when working with diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Education, or a related field.
- Prior experience (at least 1 year) in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring roles, especially in an online setting.
