You’ll operate well-maintained medium-duty vehicles, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads, and adhering strictly to all road transport regulations and company safety policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate medium-duty vehicles (DZ classification / LGV C) safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections on vehicles, identifying and reporting any defects or issues promptly.
  • Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement to prevent damage during transit.
  • Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, making timely deliveries and pick-ups as scheduled.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery manifests, and all required documentation, both digitally and physically.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and colleagues, providing updates and resolving delivery-related inquiries.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including manual handling procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Represent Career.zycto professionally at all times, upholding our standards of customer service and reliability.
  • Conduct minor routine maintenance checks and ensure vehicle cleanliness.

Required Skills

  • Valid DZ Driver's License (or UK equivalent LGV C / HGV Class 2) with a clean abstract/driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of road transport regulations and safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading, unloading, and securing cargo.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organized with strong time management abilities.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks and identify issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating vehicles with tail lifts or specialist equipment.
  • Familiarity with digital tachographs and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Knowledge of the Leeds and wider West Yorkshire geographical area.
  • Certification in Defensive Driving or similar safety courses.
  • A positive, customer-focused attitude.
