Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy and damage.
- Verify the quantity, quality, and type of materials received, reporting any discrepancies or damage immediately.
- Accurately sort, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations using appropriate equipment.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, wrapping, and loading products onto delivery vehicles.
- Generate and maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, manifests, and documentation.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in reconciliation processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., procurement, sales, production) to ensure smooth material flow.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Shipper Receiver, Warehouse Associate, or similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and inventory management software.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) with valid certification preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
- Forklift operator certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck).
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for inventory tracking.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
- Previous experience in a role requiring immediate dispatch or rapid turnaround.
