Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor designated areas and access points to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure a safe environment.
  • Conduct regular patrols to deter criminal activity, identify potential hazards, and respond to incidents promptly.
  • Provide clear and courteous directions, assistance, and information to event attendees and personnel.
  • Enforce event rules and regulations with professionalism and tact, ensuring compliance for all participants.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and disorderly conduct, following established protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow security staff, event organizers, and emergency services as required.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs of daily activities and observations.
  • Operate security equipment, such as metal detectors and communication devices, after receiving appropriate training.

Required Skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong observational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Basic physical fitness to perform duties such as standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a valid Security Guard License for Alberta.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to complete training.
  • Previous experience in customer service or public interaction roles.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
