Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and conduct a variety of user research activities including user interviews, usability testing, surveys, field studies, card sorting, and tree testing.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify user needs, pain points, mental models, and opportunities for product improvement.
  • Translate research findings into clear, concise, and compelling insights, recommendations, and artifacts (e.g., personas, journey maps, empathy maps) that influence product and design decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and engineers to integrate research insights throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Present research findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, articulating the 'why' behind user behaviors and advocating for user needs.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our research methodologies, tools, and processes, fostering a culture of user-centricity within the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new research methodologies to continually enhance our research capabilities.
  • Manage research projects from inception to completion, including participant recruitment, scheduling, and ethical considerations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in UX research or a related field.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence product and design decisions through research findings.
  • Experience with user research tools (e.g., UserTesting, Qualtrics, Optimal Workshop).
  • Familiarity with design thinking principles and agile development methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, Design, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in a related field.
  • Experience with advanced statistical analysis for quantitative data.
  • Portfolio demonstrating impactful research projects and deliverables.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced technology or digital product environment.
  • Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Sketch for collaborative purposes.
