Job Description
Career.zycto is on the hunt for an exceptional DevOps Engineer to join our growing team in Green Square, Sydney. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity to play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our next-generation cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in fostering a culture of automation, reliability, and continuous improvement across our development and operations teams. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the scalability, performance, and security of our platforms, leveraging cutting-edge cloud technologies and tooling.
Your day-to-day will involve collaborating closely with software development teams to understand their needs and provide robust, automated solutions for code deployment, testing, and monitoring. You’ll champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, working with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to provision and manage resources efficiently. A strong emphasis will be placed on building resilient systems, implementing proactive monitoring and alerting, and rapidly troubleshooting any production issues that arise. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Develop and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of services.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate new features and optimize existing systems.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine operational tasks using Python, Bash, or Go.
- Ensure security best practices are integrated into all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical production support and incident response.
- Continuously evaluate and introduce new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
- Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Extensive knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Deep understanding of Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
- Experience with microservices architecture and service mesh solutions.
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks.
- Understanding of configuration management tools like Chef or Puppet.
