Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Broadcast Support Assistant to join our growing team in Chuiba, Pemba. This full-time, on-site role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our broadcast infrastructure, supporting our content creators and technical teams. As a Broadcast Support Assistant, you will be on the front lines, providing essential technical assistance, maintaining critical equipment, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime. You’ll work within a fast-paced environment, applying your knowledge of broadcast systems, audio-visual equipment, and IT networks to support daily operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support for broadcast systems, studio equipment, and associated IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor broadcast transmissions and signals, identifying and resolving anomalies promptly.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio, video, and lighting equipment for live and pre-recorded productions.
  • Perform routine checks, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on broadcast hardware and software.
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and operational procedures accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineers, producers, and other technical staff to ensure seamless workflow and project delivery.
  • Manage and organize technical equipment inventory, ensuring proper storage, functionality, and readiness for use.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in broadcast audio/video standards and formats (e.g., SDI, NDI, IPTV).
  • Solid understanding of IT networking principles relevant to broadcast operations.
  • Experience with studio lighting, sound mixing consoles, and professional camera operation.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently and methodically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic and time-sensitive broadcast environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Broadcast Technology, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Certification in relevant broadcast software or hardware (e.g., Avid, Adobe Creative Suite, Blackmagic Design).
  • Familiarity with broadcast automation systems and media asset management (MAM) platforms.
  • Knowledge of local broadcast regulations and compliance standards in Mozambique.
  • Prior experience working in a live production or broadcast studio setting.
