Key Responsibilities
- Learn and apply core software testing principles and methodologies, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Execute manual test cases across various platforms and environments, meticulously documenting results and identifying discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with senior QA engineers and developers to understand application requirements and design effective test strategies.
- Identify, report, and track software defects and inconsistencies using our bug tracking system, ensuring clear communication of issues.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and execution of automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks under guidance.
- Participate actively in team meetings, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, contributing to continuous process improvement.
- Perform preliminary analysis of failed automated tests to identify root causes and distinguish between product defects and test script issues.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Basic understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and software testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C#).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of test automation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior exposure to any testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG).
- Basic understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Knowledge of SQL for database validation.
- Any relevant certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Foundation Level).
