Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated IT Technician for our Remote Service team. In this pivotal full-time role, you will be the frontline support for our clients, providing comprehensive technical assistance and troubleshooting from your remote workspace in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. This isn’t just about fixing problems; it’s about proactively ensuring our clients’ IT infrastructure runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently. You will manage a diverse range of technical issues, from desktop support and software installations to network diagnostics and system maintenance, all while leveraging remote access tools and excellent communication skills.

Your day-to-day will involve responding to helpdesk tickets, resolving complex technical challenges, and implementing solutions that enhance system performance and user experience. We expect you to be a proactive problem-solver, capable of working independently and as part of a distributed team. Success in this role hinges on your ability to not only diagnose and resolve technical issues but also to communicate effectively with users of varying technical proficiencies, translating complex IT jargon into understandable terms. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network related issues.
  • Perform remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex technical problems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot outages or slowdowns.
  • Document technical issues, solutions, and procedures accurately in the ticketing system.
  • Assist with IT asset management and inventory tracking.
  • Implement and adhere to IT security policies and best practices.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technology trends.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience with remote desktop tools and support software (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk, RDP)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration and support

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting
  • Experience supporting VPN solutions
