We are looking for someone with a proven track record in installing diverse siding/cladding materials, including but not limited to uPVC, timber, fibre cement, metal, composite panels, and sometimes brick slips or render boards. This role demands meticulous precision, an exceptional eye for detail, and a steadfast commitment to adhering to all site-specific and industry-standard safety protocols. You will be expected to proficiently interpret technical drawings, accurately measure and cut materials to specification, meticulously prepare surfaces for installation, and expertly install cladding systems to the highest standards, ensuring both aesthetic durability and a flawless, weather-tight finish. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
- Measure, cut, and fit various siding/cladding materials, including uPVC, timber, fibre cement, metal, and composite panels.
- Prepare surfaces for installation, ensuring they are clean, level, and ready for cladding application.
- Install exterior insulation, vapour barriers, and cladding systems according to manufacturer specifications and building codes.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively, including saws, drills, and pneumatic fasteners.
- Ensure all work adheres to health and safety regulations, including working at height safety.
- Perform quality checks on completed work to ensure durability, weather-tightness, and aesthetic appeal.
- Collaborate effectively with site managers, other trades, and team members to ensure project timelines are met.
- Identify and resolve issues related to cladding installation, ensuring minimal disruption to project schedules.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and cared for.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Siding/Cladding Installer or similar role in the UK construction industry.
- Proficiency in installing various cladding materials (e.g., uPVC, timber, fibre cement, metal panels).
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install materials to precise specifications.
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and best practices.
- Competence in using a range of hand and power tools relevant to cladding installation.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and working at heights.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in External Wall Insulation, Cladding, or a related trade.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience with external insulation systems (EWI).
- First Aid certification.
