As a Gym Equipment Attendant, you will play a vital role in upholding our commitment to excellence in member service and facility management. This position requires someone who is meticulous, reliable, and has a keen eye for detail. Beyond just cleaning, you’ll be responsible for identifying minor maintenance needs, organizing equipment, and assisting members with basic queries regarding equipment usage or gym etiquette. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize all gym equipment, including machines, weights, and accessories, regularly throughout shifts.
- Inspect equipment for any damage, wear and tear, or malfunctions and report issues promptly to management.
- Organize and re-rack weights, dumbbells, and other equipment in their designated areas.
- Ensure the cleanliness of changing rooms, restrooms, and other common areas as needed.
- Assist members with basic inquiries regarding equipment usage and gym floor layout.
- Monitor gym floor for safety hazards and address them immediately.
- Replenish supplies such as paper towels, sanitizing spray, and hand soap.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the gym facility, if required.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with members and staff.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of gym equipment and proper usage
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina to lift and move equipment, and stand for extended periods
- Reliability and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a gym, hospitality, or customer service environment
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- An understanding of basic equipment maintenance procedures
