Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome guests upon their arrival, establishing a friendly and approachable first point of contact.
  • Efficiently direct attendees to their designated seats, specific sections, or various functional areas within the event venue.
  • Proactively assist guests with any inquiries they may have, providing accurate and comprehensive information about the event schedule, available facilities, and provided services.
  • Expertly manage crowd flow and maintain an orderly environment, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and pleasant experience for all attendees.
  • Distribute programs, informational brochures, promotional materials, or any other relevant items to guests as required by event specifications.
  • Provide thoughtful assistance to guests with special needs, including those with disabilities, ensuring maximum accessibility and comfort.
  • Collaborate effectively and seamlessly with event management, security teams, and other staff members to identify and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and efficiently.
  • Actively monitor event areas for cleanliness, potential safety hazards, and promptly report any concerns or observations to supervisors for immediate action.
  • Handle minor guest complaints or concerns with utmost professionalism and discretion, knowing when to escalate more complex issues to senior management when necessary.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures and be prepared to assist in guiding guests calmly and safely during evacuations or other unforeseen incidents.
  • Maintain a consistently professional appearance and strictly adhere to all uniform guidelines and personal grooming standards at all times.
  • Contribute actively to pre-event setup activities and post-event breakdown tasks as directed by the event lead or supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (e.g., 6+ months) as an usher, host/hostess, front-of-house staff, or in a similar customer-facing role within the hospitality or events industry.
  • Familiarity with various event types (e.g., corporate functions, entertainment shows, cultural exhibitions, private parties).
  • Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa) is a distinct advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols.
