Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our growing team in Lidcombe, Sydney. This is an immediate hire opportunity for a professional eager to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions. As a BI Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data warehouse, ETL processes, and reporting solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand their analytical needs and deliver robust, scalable, and user-friendly BI solutions. We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in data warehousing concepts, SQL proficiency, and experience with leading BI tools. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data warehouse solutions, including data models, ETL processes, and data pipelines.
  • Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to present key insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and department heads to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for BI solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all reporting and analytical platforms.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization of existing BI solutions and databases.
  • Document technical designs, data flows, and reporting logic.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a BI Developer or similar role with a strong portfolio of projects.
  • Expertise in SQL, including advanced querying, stored procedures, and optimization techniques.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema, slowly changing dimensions).
  • Proficiency with at least one major BI tool (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, QlikView).
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Talend).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
  • Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
  • Relevant certifications in BI tools or cloud data platforms.
