Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of patient information.
- Prepare, label, and package medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, storing, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist patients with prescription pick-up and over-the-counter medication selection, offering excellent customer service.
- Process payments and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Provide administrative support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other healthcare team members to optimize workflow and patient care.
- Adhere to all provincial and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice.
Required Skills
- Completion of a recognized Pharmacy Assistant program or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail or hospital setting.
