Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and driven Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Charleston, West Virginia. This pivotal role involves overseeing the critical final stages of project delivery, transforming design concepts into fully operational systems. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between engineering design and practical application, ensuring that complex industrial systems and equipment are installed, tested, and validated to meet stringent performance specifications and client expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for industrial control systems, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
- Perform functional testing, startup, and troubleshooting of various systems including PLCs, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation, and motor control centers.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration and handover of systems.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis for system failures or performance discrepancies and implement effective corrective actions.
- Generate detailed commissioning reports, punch lists, and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and training to client personnel on the operation and maintenance of newly commissioned systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations throughout all commissioning activities.
- Participate in client meetings and demonstrations to present commissioning progress and results.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in commissioning industrial automation, process control, or complex electrical systems.
- Proficiency with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and SCADA/HMI platforms.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and client interaction.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
- Experience with process instrumentation calibration and loop tuning.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
- Project management experience or certifications.
- Experience in specific industries such as chemical, oil & gas, power generation, or manufacturing.
