Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both internal and external, to ensure a secure environment and deter unauthorized activities.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to detect and respond to suspicious activities or potential threats.
- Control access points by verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate entry/exit logs.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents following established protocols and procedures.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other critical documentation in a timely manner.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure compliance, maintain order, and protect property and personnel.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting employees, visitors, and contractors with inquiries, directions, and general assistance.
- Perform routine safety checks and identify potential hazards, reporting them to appropriate management personnel for resolution.
- Collaborate with emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) when necessary, providing critical information and assistance.
Required Skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Security Guard License in Quebec (we will guide you through this process and provide training).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English (bilingualism in French is a significant asset).
- Excellent observational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to security.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to duty.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed during stressful or emergency situations.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing, email communication, and surveillance monitoring.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and pass a comprehensive background check and criminal record check.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (or working towards one).
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within a probationary period, training may be provided).
- Previous experience in customer service or roles requiring public interaction.
- A demonstrated interest in safety, security, or community protection.
