Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Building Security Officer to join our team in Meadowbrook, St. Andrew. In this pivotal full-time role, you will be the front-line guardian of our premises, ensuring the safety and security of our employees, visitors, and assets. As a Building Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, responding to incidents, monitoring surveillance systems, and enforcing company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas on foot and by vehicle to ensure the security of the building, premises, and personnel.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, reporting any suspicious activities or breaches immediately.
- Control access to the building, verifying credentials of employees and visitors, and issuing passes as required.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action as per established protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and rectify potential security risks or hazards.
- Maintain detailed records of security-related incidents, observations, and daily activities.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance from all occupants and visitors.
- Provide assistance to employees and visitors with security-related concerns or inquiries.
- Collaborate with emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) during critical incidents.
- Operate security equipment, including access control systems, metal detectors, and communication devices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Officer or in a similar role (minimum 18 months).
- Valid Security Guard Licence (e.g., PSRA licence in Jamaica).
- Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
- Strong observational and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate surveillance systems and basic security equipment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities in high-pressure situations.
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing and system monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in security management or related field is a plus.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with advanced access control systems.
- A clean police record.
- Ability to speak multiple languages (e.g., Spanish).
