Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Sound Technician Assistant to join our growing team in Iqaluit. You will be exposed to a wide array of professional audio gear, including mixing consoles, microphones, loudspeakers, amplifiers, and signal processors, gaining a deep understanding of their functions and applications.

While prior professional experience in sound is not required, a demonstrable interest in audio, music production, or event technology will be highly regarded. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior Sound Technicians with the setup, calibration, and breakdown of audio equipment for various events.
- Help with cabling, patching, and signal routing for microphones, speakers, mixers, and other audio devices.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of audio systems and equipment under supervision.
- Maintain inventory and ensure all audio equipment is organized, clean, and in good working order.
- Support sound checks and rehearsals, making minor adjustments as directed.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and operational guidelines for all equipment and event sites.
- Transport equipment safely to and from event locations.
- Collaborate effectively with other production team members (lighting, video, staging) to ensure seamless event execution.
- Assist with post-event equipment packing and storage.
- Proactively learn new technologies and techniques related to audio production.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated strong interest in audio technology, music, or live events.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of electronics and audio principles is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain one) is an asset.
