Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sync Licensing Manager to join our dynamic team in Denver, Colorado. In this pivotal full-time role, you will be at the forefront of connecting our diverse catalog of music with a wide array of visual media projects, including film, television, advertising, video games, and digital content. We are looking for an individual with a profound understanding of music rights, a keen ear for placement opportunities, and exceptional negotiation skills to secure impactful licensing deals that benefit both our artists and our partners.

As a Sync Licensing Manager, you will be instrumental in expanding our reach and ensuring our artists’ work finds the perfect home in various multimedia productions. This role demands a proactive approach to cultivating and nurturing strong relationships with music supervisors, advertising agencies, film studios, and gaming developers. You will be responsible for pitching music tailored to specific briefs, skillfully negotiating terms and fees, drafting and reviewing comprehensive license agreements, and managing the entire sync pipeline from initial contact to deal completion and royalty collection oversight. Your strategic vision will help identify emerging trends, new platforms, and untapped markets for our catalog, driving significant revenue growth and invaluable artistic exposure for our roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pitch, and secure sync licensing opportunities across various media platforms (film, TV, advertising, video games, digital content).
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with music supervisors, ad agencies, film/TV production companies, and other key industry contacts.
  • Negotiate license fees, terms, and conditions, ensuring fair value for our catalog and artists.
  • Draft, review, and finalize sync license agreements in collaboration with our legal team.
  • Manage and track the entire sync licensing pipeline from initial outreach to deal closure and payment collection.
  • Research and analyze current market trends to identify new opportunities and competitive strategies.
  • Curate and pitch appropriate music from our catalog based on creative briefs and client needs.
  • Collaborate with A&R, marketing, and legal teams to align sync strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Represent Career.zycto at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Provide regular reports on sync licensing activity, revenue, and market insights.

Required Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in music sync licensing, publishing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of securing sync placements and negotiating successful deals.
  • Deep understanding of music rights (publishing and master recording) and intellectual property.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong existing network of music supervisors, agencies, and media contacts.
  • Proficiency in drafting and understanding legal agreements and contracts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and music licensing databases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Marketing, Entertainment Law, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with international sync licensing markets.
