Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and meticulous Technical Writer to join our dynamic IT team in Kogarah, Sydney. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, API guides, release notes, online help, and internal knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, QA, support) to gather information, understand product features, and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Standardize content across platforms and media, ensuring consistency in terminology, tone, and style guide adherence.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand language for various target audiences.
- Manage documentation projects from inception to delivery, including planning, scheduling, writing, editing, and publishing.
- Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect product changes and new features, ensuring all materials are current and accurate.
- Conduct peer reviews of other technical writers' documentation and provide constructive feedback to uphold quality standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Technical Writer in an IT or software development environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of English grammar, style, and syntax.
- Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, AsciiDoc, Markdown).
- Ability to understand and translate complex technical concepts, including APIs, software architectures, and system functionalities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy and consistency in documentation.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools for creating diagrams, flowcharts, and screenshots (e.g., Visio, Figma).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- Certification in Technical Communication (e.g., CPTC).
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and structured authoring.
- Basic programming or scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, JavaScript) to better understand code-related documentation.
- Experience working in a SaaS or cloud-native environment, understanding modern software delivery.
