As a Supermarket Stock Clerk, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure our products are readily available and our storage areas are kept in impeccable order. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming merchandise, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Efficiently move and store products in designated areas, adhering to proper rotation (FIFO) and safety procedures.
- Replenish shelves, display cases, and freezers with new stock, ensuring products are well-faced, tidy, and priced correctly.
- Monitor stock levels on the sales floor and in the backroom, communicating low stock or out-of-stock items to management.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock audits as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the stockroom, sales floor, and all display areas.
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks safely (training provided if needed).
- Assist customers with locating products or carrying purchases when necessary.
- Report any damaged, expired, or faulty products to the supervisor immediately.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling merchandise.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic numeracy for inventory counting and verification.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision.
