Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and develop innovative set designs based on project briefs, creative visions, and budgetary constraints.
  • Produce detailed sketches, renderings, 3D models, and technical drawings for set construction.
  • Source and select appropriate materials, props, and furnishings, considering aesthetics, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with directors, producers, lighting technicians, and other team members to ensure design coherence and practical feasibility.
  • Oversee the construction, dressing, and dismantling of sets, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
  • Manage and maintain prop inventory and set elements, ensuring they are well-organized and readily available.
  • Stay updated with current design trends, materials, and production techniques in the industry.
  • Solve creative and logistical challenges that arise during the design and build process.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative input for visual storytelling.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in set design, interior design, or related fields.
  • Excellent understanding of design principles, color theory, spatial awareness, and visual composition.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into compelling visual concepts.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
