Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions.
- Monitor and record vital signs, observing and interpreting patient responses to care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and revise individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate life support when necessary.
- Perform wound care, IV insertion, catheterization, and other nursing procedures.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kenya.
- Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a recognized institution.
- Proven clinical competence in general nursing practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and patient-centered care approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Specialized certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS).
- Experience in specific departments such as Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or Surgical Ward.
- Fluency in additional local languages (e.g., Swahili).
