Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD software from red-line mark-ups and verbal instructions.
- Assist engineers in drafting and revising electrical designs for various projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Maintain and update drawing archives, ensuring proper version control and document management.
- Perform basic calculations and material take-offs as directed by senior staff.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate and complete documentation of electrical systems.
- Learn and apply relevant electrical codes, standards, and drafting best practices.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Participate in design review meetings and contribute to problem-solving.
- Support the preparation of project documentation, including specifications and bill of materials.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software (e.g., MicroStation, Revit MEP)
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and terminology
- Familiarity with electrical symbols and drafting conventions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or a related field
- Prior internship or co-op experience in an electrical drafting or engineering role
