Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, Wireless, and VPN environments.
- Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet), and load balancers.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively implement solutions to optimize network efficiency, availability, and resilience.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including detailed diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical network incident response, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal service disruption.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams to integrate network solutions seamlessly with server, cloud, and application infrastructures.
- Implement and enforce robust network security policies and procedures, protecting against cyber threats and ensuring data integrity.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and migrations with meticulous attention to detail and minimal impact on business operations.
- Conduct regular network audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure continuous compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and administration within an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and advanced switching technologies (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, HSRP/VRRP).
- Strong practical experience with leading firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet) and their management.
- Solid understanding of network security principles, IPsec VPNs, SSL VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs).
- Proven experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix) for performance management and incident detection.
- Exceptional ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues under pressure, utilizing packet capture and analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities with a proactive approach to work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, JNCIP, or equivalent advanced networking accreditations.
- Experience with cloud networking platforms (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Networking, Google Cloud VPN) and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform) for infrastructure as code.
- Prior experience with Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) technologies and their implementation.
- Knowledge of Voice over IP (VoIP) and Quality of Service (QoS) principles and configurations.
