Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Information Systems Officer to join our vibrant team in Carlton, Melbourne. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues, resolving problems efficiently.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, servers, printers, mobile devices, and related peripherals.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights in various systems (e.g., Active Directory, cloud platforms like Microsoft 365/Google Workspace).
- Monitor system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure data backup and recovery procedures are routinely performed and tested to safeguard critical information.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, endpoint detection and response, and vulnerability management.
- Assist with the deployment and management of cloud-based services and applications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, configurations, procedures, and service desk resolutions.
- Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations, contributing technical expertise.
- Conduct regular system audits and implement preventative measures to ensure system stability and security.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT support or systems administration role.
- Proficiency in administering Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11, Windows Server) and basic Linux command-line knowledge.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Wi-Fi, basic routing/switching).
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Azure AD).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues systematically and effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Customer-service oriented approach with a strong desire to help users and improve their experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, ITIL Foundation).
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation of routine IT tasks.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of enterprise-level backup solutions and disaster recovery planning principles.
- Prior experience working in a flexible or hybrid work environment.
