Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our dedicated team in Nether Poppleton, York. This is a crucial role for an individual who thrives in managing financial records with precision and integrity, supporting our operational efficiency. As a Bookkeeper, you will be instrumental in maintaining our financial health, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner. Working approximately 20-25 hours per week, flexibly spread across weekdays, this position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to balance career aspirations with personal commitments. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Process and reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial transactions.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on schedule.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Maintain organised and accurate financial records and documentation.
- Generate financial reports as required by management.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, clients, and internal teams regarding financial queries.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- AAT qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with UK VAT regulations.
- Previous experience working in a consultancy or service-based industry.
