Job Description

This role as a Greenhouse Worker offers an immediate opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of modern horticulture, based in the picturesque setting of Elvington, York. We are seeking enthusiastic and diligent individuals who are eager to contribute to the cultivation of high-quality crops in a controlled environment. As a vital member of our farming team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the health and productivity of our greenhouse operations, playing a direct role in bringing fresh produce to market. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, appreciates the rhythm of agricultural cycles, and is committed to precision and care in their work.

You will be involved in a wide array of tasks crucial to the success of our greenhouse. This includes the careful planting of seeds and seedlings, monitoring plant growth, and applying essential irrigation. Pest and disease identification and management will also be part of your routine, requiring a keen eye and adherence to organic or sustainable practices where applicable. We pride ourselves on maintaining immaculate growing conditions, so general greenhouse maintenance, including cleaning, sanitising equipment, and organising supplies, will be a regular part of your day. The work is physically active, often requiring standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions, but it is incredibly rewarding as you watch your efforts culminate in bountiful harvests.

We value teamwork and a proactive approach. You’ll work alongside experienced growers, learning best practices and contributing to a collaborative atmosphere focused on continuous improvement and innovation in farming. This role provides an excellent entry point into the agricultural industry for those without extensive prior experience, as comprehensive training will be provided. For those with a burgeoning interest in sustainable food production and a desire to make a tangible difference, this Greenhouse Worker position offers stability, skill development, and the satisfaction of contributing to a healthier food system. If you’re ready for an immediate start and passionate about growing, we encourage you to apply and join our dedicated team.
